The Children - Clodagh Hegarty
“There are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child, there are seven million." - Walk Streightiff.
I will never get tired of photographing children. Meet Clodagh. I have photographed her for quite some time now and in each shoot, she delivers something different. Today was Clodagh's 'would be' First Holy Communion date but the Coronavirus had other thoughts about that. I looked at my diary and thought how I looked forward to photographing Clodagh as much as I knew she would amaze me. Throughout the pandemic, I have itched to photograph people. Today was a beautiful day and Miss Clodagh Hegarty helped me out as much as I did her. We had a photoshoot in the garden with the lambs and her little sister Tess, just because we could.
Children change constantly, finding themselves as they grow. I love photographing children because their uninhibited creativity is contagious. They fascinate me. They take my vision, mix in a little personality, and together, we make magic.
Children love to be involved in the photo-making process. I always invite them to give me ideas and most of the time, they offer great suggestions. This teamwork is why I love photographing children. Their uninhibited creativity is inspiring. You just have to listen, watch and be ready to document the moment. I love watching them do their thing and letting it elevate my work. Magic.
